A
Marketing Network?
Have your banners viewed accross the internet
and only pay for results. This gives you the exposure
you need to establish branding and awareness, but without
the huge costs of banner advertising. An Affiliate program
is a marketing system where you offer other sites the
opportunity to become affiliates of your site, and earn
commissions for referring customers to your site. You
offer the affiliates a choice of linking options, the
most popular being banners and text links. You pay affiliates
only after the results of the advertising have come in
i.e. £500 of sales, or 10,000 clicks. The more sites
you join to your affiliate network the more traffic and
exposure you get, promoting your site all over the internet.
Below in fig 1a is a grpahical representation of this.

one type, you may offer several types of program at the
same time, allowing your affiliates to choose how they
would prefer to be paid. Below in fig 1b is a diagram
of how an affiliate program integrates with your site.

Example Figures:-
These figures are only an example to demonstrate how affiliate
marketing works. Figures are shown for the 1st and 12th
month, then a total for the year. Actual figures will
vary depending on your site.
Each month your program attracts 10 new affiliates
Each affiliate sends an average of only 100 clicks a month
Your sites average hits to sales conversion ratio is 1
in 100
Your sites average sale value is £100
With an affiliate commission rate of 10%
1st Month:-
You have 10 affiliates
This gives a traffic increase of 1000 clicks per month
And a turnover increase of £1000 a month
With affiliates due commissions of £10 each, total
£100
So a net turnover increase of £900
12th Month:-
You have 120 affiliates
This gives a traffic increase of 12000 clicks
A turnover increase of £12,000
With affiliates due commissions of £120 each, total
£1200
So a net turnover increase of £10800
Year Total:-
You have 120 affiliates
This gives a traffic increase of 78000 clicks
A turnover increase of £78,000
With affiliates due commissions of £780 each, total
£7800
So a net turnover increase of £70200
