What is an affiliate program?

AllAffiliatePro offers two main benefits to any E-Business.
AllAffiliatePro is:-

A Marketing Network
An Advertising Tracker

Details:-

A Marketing Network?
Have your banners viewed accross the internet and only pay for results. This gives you the exposure you need to establish branding and awareness, but without the huge costs of banner advertising. An Affiliate program is a marketing system where you offer other sites the opportunity to become affiliates of your site, and earn commissions for referring customers to your site. You offer the affiliates a choice of linking options, the most popular being banners and text links. You pay affiliates only after the results of the advertising have come in i.e. £500 of sales, or 10,000 clicks. The more sites you join to your affiliate network the more traffic and exposure you get, promoting your site all over the internet. Below in fig 1a is a grpahical representation of this.

You only pay for results of your choosing, the most popular types of affiliate program being, PPS (pay per sale) and PPC (pay per click). There are many types of affiliate program that you can have, these are described below in 'Affiliate Program Types'. AllAffiliatePro can be used to create all types of affiliate program, not limiting you to only one type, you may offer several types of program at the same time, allowing your affiliates to choose how they would prefer to be paid. Below in fig 1b is a diagram of how an affiliate program integrates with your site. Fig 1c shows the affiliate program in more detail. Then there are some example figures showing the basic math of how affiliate marketing works. There is also an affiliate revenue calculator where you can try out some figures of your own.

Example Figures:-
These figures are only an example to demonstrate how affiliate marketing works. Figures are shown for the 1st and 12th month, then a total for the year. Actual figures will vary depending on your site.
Each month your program attracts 10 new affiliates
Each affiliate sends an average of only 100 clicks a month
Your sites average hits to sales conversion ratio is 1 in 100
Your sites average sale value is £100
With an affiliate commission rate of 10%
1st Month:-
You have 10 affiliates
This gives a traffic increase of 1000 clicks per month
And a turnover increase of £1000 a month
With affiliates due commissions of £10 each, total £100
So a net turnover increase of £900
12th Month:-
You have 120 affiliates
This gives a traffic increase of 12000 clicks
A turnover increase of £12,000
With affiliates due commissions of £120 each, total £1200
So a net turnover increase of £10800
Year Total:-
You have 120 affiliates
This gives a traffic increase of 78000 clicks
A turnover increase of £78,000
With affiliates due commissions of £780 each, total £7800
So a net turnover increase of £70200

Affiliate Program Types
Pay Per Click (PPC)
- Pay Per Unique Click
- Pay Per Raw Click
- Pay Per Blind Click

This is where affiliates are offered a set payment for each visitor they send to your site. This can be directly compared to CPC (Cost Per Click) advertising. Clicks can be broken down into 3 categories, Unique, Raw, and blind. AllAffiliatePro can be used to track and offer commissions on all of these categories of clicks.

Pay Per Performance (PPP)
- Pay Per Sale
- Pay Per Lead
- Pay Per Action
- Pay Per Email
- Pay Per Anything you want

This is where affiliates are offered a payment only when a visitor to your site performs a desired action, such as purchasing a product or contacting your sales department. This type of affiliate program has become very popular as you only pay for actual results. Popular performance options are PPS (Pay Per Sale) where affiliates are offered a % commission on sales they refer or a flat £ amount on sales they refer, and PPL (Pay Per Lead) where affiliates are offered a flat £ amount for leads they generate for your site. AllAffiliatePro can be used to track and offer commissions on all of these options. A popular example of a PPS affiliate program is Amazon.co.uk associates program offering 5% commission on sales.
